INDIGENOUS PRODUCER
Our products are sourced directly from our Indigenous Producers. Our “beyond fair trade” model recognizes that “Fair Trade”, although worthy and noble, does not provide the capital resources to stimulate, maintain or enhance any type of sustainable development for those communities which have been hyper exploited, to their detriment and the development of other worlds, for centuries or millennia.
Our products are purchased at a Fair-Trade Rate and in addition, 10% of the retail profits are reserved, to be provided back to those communities in the form of Tribute.
The funds are not simply distributed into the hands of individuals or groups but are earmarked for sustainable development projects, introduced wholistically and scalable, across a number of key vital sectors. Organizing vested community members into an organizational body representing the various interest groups within the society is critical, ensuring that elders, women and youth are rightly represented. All projects must first be presented, reviewed, discussed, modified and approved by the organization counsel before any distribution of funds can take place. Government agency also must play a critical partnership role in the planning and implementation of all projects.
